Jessica Molaskey: Pentimento [MP3]
Pentimento (noun): a reappearance in a painting of an original drawn or painted element which was eventually painted over by the artist.
Digitally remastered and re-sequenced, Jessica Molaskey's Pentimento is filled with songs of the 1920s and 30s that hoped to brighten the Depression. Accompanied by a wonderful band that includes her husband, John Pizzarelli, and father-in-law, Bucky Pizzarelli (both playing guitars and ukuleles), bassist brother-in-law Martin Pizzarelli, clarinetist Ken Peplowski, and violinist Johnny Frigo, this stunning debut album from the long-time collaborator of Jason Robert Brown (Jessica can currently be seen in Brown's The Connector) was originally released in 2002. Center Stage Records is pleased to bring Pentimento to a new generation.
